Hello people, and welcome to our rundown of the year's best and worst films. We tried to come up with a rough approximation of our overal site top ten, as follows. Anything out in a U.K. cinema in 2008 is fair game.

Not a bad bunch, I'm sure you'll agree, an we also list a good number of excellent films that could just as easily be up there as well.

The year's poorest efforts include the uniquely irritating Happy-Go-Lucky, the risible Cassandra's Dream, the baffling Mamma Mia and the downright ugly Doomsday.
