The British Academy, in their infinite wisdom has announced their award winners for 2004. Frankly I've no real reason to pick too many flaws with their decisions. The obvious controversy will come from Peter Jackson's snubbing in the Best Director category, although to be honest if he was going to win one for any of the series it ought to have been Fellowship. I suspect the Academy members reckoned too much of Return of the King reduced to 'pan out over large CG army', and they might have a point. Not so sure that Master & Commander's Peter Weir is a better choice, however a good shout on the Production design award for it. You'll be glad to know that the hotly contested 'Best hair' category was won by Pirates of the Caribbean, and that's always the only award anyone truly cares about.
